As we close the door on another challenging year – from rising interest rates and political and economic uncertainty to the most loadshedding-intensive year ever – we look at what 2022 looked like in numbers, share the results of our Estate Agent survey and the Lightstone Property team shares a video message.
Western Cape is home to 9/10 of SA’s top suburbs by Lightstone’s average transfer value; visits to malls haven’t recovered to pre-Covid levels; Pretoria and Port Elizabeth had the most fires in 2022…In 2022 The Year in Numbers we share an infographic snapshot of some of these residential and commercial property trends, changes in mall shopping patterns and fire stats over the past year.
Lightstone recently conducted a sentiment survey to determine Estate Agents’ perception of the impact that the current economic environment and increasing interest rates are having on the property market.
Estate Agents reported that they struggled to achieve their sales targets but remain optimistic despite the challenges they face. They also shared trends they’ve noticed and their predictions for 2023.
Our data and insights make it easier for professionals across the property, retail and financial services industries to do business – and it’s been particularly useful as we all emerge from Covid and its aftereffects. Of course, nothing would be possible without our partners, including clients and industry role-players from the various sectors. This short video captures some of the year’s highlights – and happy holidays from all of us to all of you. We wish you memorable moments as we all open the door to 2023!
